25 years ago Sony released its first major console known as the PlayStation. At the time it quickly became a must have household gaming device and it didn’t take long for it to be the greatest selling console of all time, becoming the first console to sell over 100 million units. The PlayStation set the bar for all future consoles and to many is the foundation of what we now know as the gaming industry. With groundbreaking games like Worms, Tekken and Rayman the PS1 the Stage was set to allow consoles to grow into the games we know today.
With a lot of fond memories of where my gaming interest started I’m really intrigued as to how this new release will play out. On 3rd December 2018 Sony are releasing the PlayStation Classic. The console looks identical to the original but is around 45% smaller in size. The console itself will come with 20 games preinstalled including Ridge Racer, Final Fantasy VII & Tekken 3. It looks like the console will be coming to us at £90, $99 USD & €99.
We know there are a lot of gamers out there who will be buzzing about this news.
