A number of Square Enix’s titles have already been announced and talked about quite heavily so we’ve focused on those with more information as a result of the conference and those that have minor additions or none at all are at the bottom.
Assassins Creed: Odyssey
We released the teaser for this on our social media when it first came out; a 300 style kick into the abyss and a very Leonidas character in the picture. Ubisoft announced yesterday that Odyssey will now let you choose whether you play as a male or female character, and will set place in Ancient Greece (which was pretty obvious from the teaser let’s face it). Apparently it will pick up from where Origins left off in terms of the modern day storyline with Layla.
Beyond Good and Evil 2
Here we go, it’s been a while my old friend. Jade & Pey’j from the first tile both appear in the trailer, suggesting the link between the two could be quite closely related. The trailer suggests plenty of space antics, if nothing else. However one cool thing is that Ubisoft have a ‘Space Monkey Programme’ which you can join and provide input to shape the in-development storyline. We think that’s pretty awesome anyway.
The Crew 2
The Crew was popular around the time of Need for Speed and Midnight club and a modern revamp of the open world street racing genre was due. However the twist here seems to be the addition of a couple of awesome game modes Powerboat and Aerobatics, in addition to street race and rally raid. Quite a throwback for some of the guys at Druid and I’m sure plenty of our readers.
Skull & Bones
Exactly what it says on the tin, A game based around pirates, but more specifically the rise and creation of the pirate era – where men and women seek freedom and liberty. The game will also feature a PvPvE mode where you will encounter may AI enemies as well as irl players, similar to the dark zone in the Division. You can loot enemy ships and attack other players to try and gain treasure. The third mode of this game you need to know about is called Disputed Waters, PvP mode which lets you battle it out against irl adversaries and prove your worthiness of being the Kaizoku-ō
Starlink: Battle for Atlas
A very different addition to what you might have expected. Star Fox is back and looking slicker than ever. Due for release on October 16th you can once again enjoy an intergalactic battle with everyone’s favourite Fox….as long as you have a Switch. Yes unfortunately it’s only on Switch guys but considering the other games announced for Switch we imagine the sales will be rocketing soon, pun intended. The other neat thing is that the game comes with a spaceship that attaches to your controller…with changeable pilots and weapons…sweet.
This game looks brilliant. Elijah Wood himself created and presented this this terrifying title which is designed for VR mainly. It will be released on Oculus, Vive, PlayStation VR as well as PS4 and Xbox One. This frightening storyline sets you inside the tale of a young boy suffering at the hands of his unhinged father. It’s a psychological thriller which will mess with the environment and your mind alike. It’s definitely one of our favourite released yet.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider
A huge game with big expectations from Druid Gaming. We’re big fans of the whole series. Most of the information was released at Microsoft already.
The Division 2
Another favourite of the Druid Gaming team, literally just for the Dark Zone Shenanigans
