With E3 2018 gone and feeling like an eternity ago Druid Gaming have been looking at all of the amazing games which are due to come out. Don't get us wrong, we're huge fans of Fortnite, PUBG and most of the current games that dominate Twitch and YouTube, but we just feel there is a need for some new blood in the gaming world - there's only so much time you can spend watching Ninja outplay 99 noobs.
There are a tonne of games that are coming out this year including Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Spyro Reignited and many more. However, today we are looking further into the future and a bringing you our top 5 games that we are looking forward to playing in 2019!
5. Resident Evil 2
Coming in at number 5 is a remake of a classic. Everybody knows the Resident Evil franchise and those who have been long standing fans will know that Resident Evil 2 kicked ass. It was the horror survival games that really put horror games on the map. There are various points in the game that had me hiding behind the sofa as a child. It was originally released in 1998 and saw Leo and Claire desperately trying to escape Racoon City as zombies chase them through darkened hallways. The remake is only going to amplify the tense atmousphere in the game and Druid Gaming cannot wait for this to come out.
Release date: 25th January 2019
4. Kingdom Hearts 3
Coming in at number 4 is Kingdom Hearts 3. The development of this games seems to be taking ages, I mean Kingdom Hearts 2 came out 13 years ago in December 2005!!! All of the trailers that have been coming out have whet our appetite and we cannot wait to explore all of the new worlds that Kingdom Hearts 3 has to offer. Players will be able to explore a number of Disney worlds including Toy Story, Monster's Inc and Big Hero 6. Not to mention that the game play and graphics look very slick!
Release date: 25th January 2019
3. Death Stranding
Our 3rd game on this list is a game which has peaked our interest over the last few months. Particularly at E3 where we saw the extended gameplay trailer that had the main character (Daryl from Walking Dead), carrying a baby in an incubator on his chest, as he traversed the baron wasteland terrain. We’re really excite to see what this game has to offer, the storyline seems really deep and dark. It’s certainly a game we’ll enjoy playing, watching and streaming.
Release date: 22nd February 2019
2. Gears 5
As you’ve probably noticed, Druid Gaming has a certain soft spot for the Gears of War franchise. We all played it as youngsters, enjoying lancering, gnashering and chainsawing our way through the horde one-by-one. As the series has progressed, the storyline has developed and taken a turn to include new main characters. Gears 4 introduced JD Fenix, Marcus’ son, and his friends Kait and Del. As the story of 4 finished we suddenly started to realise that the JD-Marcus reunion was not going to be the main focus of the new series - it is Kait and Reyna’s relation to the horde. Gears 5 should answer a number of questions and we’re buzzing to see where this path leads!
Release date: 2019 - no specific day yet
How can our number 1 pick not be Anthem? You’ve seen the trailers right? They look lit!! It has a similar feel the Halo and Destiny in the you have the option to customise your exosuit to include unique weapons and abilities. The difference here is the open world map you can explore with your teammates; exploring ancient ruins and breathtaking landscapes whilst you fight off beasts and marauders. BioWare have pulled an number of big games out of the bag in the past, like Mass Effect, Dragon Age & Star Wars: Knights of the Republic and Druid Gaming are confident that their new Anthem franchise is going to be amazing.
