On Tuesday, global Esports organisation 100 Thieves, more commonly known as 100t announced two new co-owners were taking control of the company. They come in the form of the world renowned rapper Drake and entrepreneur Scooter Braun, who you may recognise as Ariana Grande’s manager.
The duo will joins former Call of Duty World Champion Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag and Cleveland Cavaliers’ Chariman Dan Gilbert to lead 100t into the big leagues of Esports. Currently 100t have competitive teams in Fortnite, Call of Duty and perhaps most famously League of Legends.
Apart from one of the most used meme’s in the gaming community
Drake is quite well known as a big gaming fan already after his collaboration with Ninja, Fortnite’s most famous streamer currently. Their co-stream broke the Internet with 628,000 concurrent viewers stopping in to watch the pair dominate, smashing the previous record of 338,000.
It‘s certainly a massive move for 100 Thieves who aim to win World Championships, but we also think this level of exposure could put them next to FaZe, EnVy and Optic Gaming etc in terms of brands.
